Hello, Got my 2007 Prius just over a year ago. It has 225,000 miles on it, It's been driving fine, but I drove through a snowstorm yesterday, and when I got home I turned the car off. When I turned it back on, my check engine light turned on. My dad took it for a drive around our block, but when he got back, the car stopped at the end of our driveway. We have not been able to get the car to move since, except at one point last night, but we can't get it back to that point. When we coded the car, we got error code P0A40. We thought maybe it could be a battery issue, and when we took the battery out and brought it to an auto parts store, they said the battery was pretty much shot, so we bought a new one. No dice. Any ideas? We know it could be a transaxle issue, but we're hoping for a simple solution so that we may not have to have it towed to a dealer.

Well, that code is for a circuit fault with the (drive)motor position sensor - aka the "resolver". It could be a problem in the transmission, but I would suggest looking over the external wiring first. There could be rodent damage or something.
