Oh, I just found those guys today! I'm in South Florida and I've got the brake issue (that Toyota admitted they sent the notification to the car's original owner and not me and still won't pay)
I just contacted these guys today, by coincidence. I've been shopping around trying to get the best price I can on the ABS fix and an engine swap (right in the middle of my fight with Toyota, my head gasket goes!) with me providing the engine. Let's see what they say. 2400 is 300 lower than the two reputable shops I've contacted (one is well known on here), although like I said, I'm fighting with Toyota because they admitted to me that they sent the "soft recall" notifications to the car's previous owner, not me. I guess they figured I'm psychic or something. I had no idea. Dealers are way pricier than this.

Like the OP, I cannot get a new car. I've got no choice. This is still cheaper than that, and better the devil you know, you know? Before this I literally had one seven dollar repair (besides regular wear and tear stuff). It's got new tires, new front rotors and pads (which I did myself, which is insane if you know me!!) and the solar roof and I just love the car all things considered. 2012, 130K miles. So wish I'd know about these issues beforehand, I would've been more proactive.

Then again, I had VWs before this, and the fact that I had years of worry-free ownership and the car was a great deal doesn't make me feel like I didn't get my money's worth. My last VW was probably around five years old (bought new) and the paint was wrecked (VW did not want to pay for that, what a mission), the interior had crumbled to dust (literally! dust!) and I spent tons to keep it running (eventually 225K til it just wasn't viable, it was a TDI so at least I know what an EGR valve is).

Been looking all over South Florida (and Central) for someone I can afford, and like I said those two places gave me the best prices, guarantees and everything. Really refreshing to talk to (Toyoworks down here are great!). I would never dare to replace an engine. A stereo, no prob! :)
