I have been told I need new motor mounts on the 2008 Prius. Does anybody know how much that job would cost?

    Thanks for info.

Depends which amount but they're all just slip-in jobs put a jack under the car under the oil pan just gently lift the weight off no crushing the pan or anywhere else you like and take the mound out and slide the new one in this is kind of rare on these cars unless you have an extreme oil leak or something that's pounding the mount rubbers oil stuff somebody's poured under the hood I don't know Not really much to go on an accident would do it maybe

How much would it cost I don't know if I was doing it probably about 50 bucks a mount or something like that. I have no idea what the book pays look it up in the time labor guide online and you can pretty much almost cut that in half generally except for really huge jobs they're almost close to spot on on those

In general, small little Atkinson engines with a hybrid synergy drive never puts much demand at all on the motor mounts.

As in lots of people come here saying they were told they need motor mounts only to later on down the road realize they got bad advice and wasted money on something that wasn't needed.

These aren't big V8 engines. Failing motor mounts is not really a thing with this car, only mechanics who should know better makes this a thing.

thank you for the advice. The car is at a mechanic that I can trust and is going to check them out . The struts were bad for a long time so I will find out tomorrow. Thank you

Maybe a Prius that lives outside in an area with lots of salt on roads in Winter back east could have a problem with motor mounts, but I doubt it. And definitely not in Arizona.

Anyways, point being we're here to help you if you are interested in telling us the symptoms, as well as more details about what the mechanic said?

Just asking how much new motor mounts cost is something we can't answer very well because the prices are all over the place these days.

What we do best is to help you with diagnostics to confirm the "mechanic that I can trust" is heading in the right direction and if their price is high, low or average.

Have they sent you photos that you can share with us? That's what a trustworthy mechanic can do upon request.
