Hello, I have a 2018 Prius Prime. Currently it has the original navigation system without CD. If I could find a used navigation system with CD, of the same size, also from a Prius, can it be replaced without problems or it might not work because it has to be programmed on the new car? Thanks
I'm surprised this thread has been up a day without a heads up. the maps in Gen 4 are on as microSD card. If you have the 7" MFD screen that cards cover is at the bottom in one corner ( us / european sides my be different ). 11" MFD I'm still unclear about it's location (maybe somewhere under - the dash? ) Those Nav update microSD cards are not cheap, and some reports in this forum say they don't always work, even if the part # is said to be correct for the head units part #. But there are a lot of misleading posts here too. Dealer parts dept. ? might be able to match the correct SD card to the cars head unit or may need the hard units part # to get you the right Nav microSD card.
Thanks for the reply. I just want to know if anyone has installed the radio with the compact disc instead of the one without CD.
I haven't seen any posts where someone has switched their Primes OEM head unit for one with Nav on a CD. There are plenty of posts about installing after market head units of all kinds here, mostly for car play or android auto features. Have you looked at any specific Head Units that offer the features you're looking for?
