Just bought a Prius V 2017 and annoyingly find that the keyless entry door handle only available in driver side door.

Ideally this system should be a three-points-door-lock which also include the passenger and tailgate door.

Another interesting part is, I actually find another similar car (Prius Alpha - 7 seater, mine is 5 seater) that has the feature.

    So...

    1. How does this system work actually? Does each door handle have antenna to detect the key fob? Or is it centralised?

    2. I understand that installing from scratch is hard, but this case, the driver side has it already? Can i just buy the parts from the 7 seat and make some simple wiring to make it work?

    Thank you so much!

Can't say on the 2017, however, on the 2012 v Five, one can enable or disable SKS 'all-unlock' by toggling the option on the Setup page of the head unit.

Hiya, thanks for the reply. Its not about central lock system; the keyless in the driver's door unlock and lock all the doors.

Its about having a keyless button to lock and unlock the car in three of its door.

Having only one keyless entry is somehow impractical for me. Lets say, I get out from the car and take something from the boot, i need to take the remote our from my bag to lock the car, whilst having three point door lock allow me to lock the whole car from the tailgate.

The main idea of keyless entry is to be able to put the key in your bag all the time.

Yes i realise this kind of lazy behavior, but coming from having a car with three point door lock to this one surely disheartening

I also have one input for unlocking.
At first it was difficult to get used to after Gen2, which additionally opened the passenger and rear doors.
Now I've gotten used to it and I find it a plus.

I think that the wiring that allows you to turn on the door lock from three places can allow an upgrade.
It is enough to find the necessary spare parts and connect according to the electrical diagram from the Prius Alpha.

I’m describing an option on the 2012 v Five that apparently does not exist on the 2017 v.
