Just wanted to give my colleagues on the forum a report--this is such a great forum, and I read a lot but post only once in a while. Thought a 100,000 personal update might be useful to some of people out there.

    Bought 2017 Prius Prime, new.

Currently 100,000 Miles, 8 years old, and the car has had 0 (zero) mechanical issues. Of that 100,000 miles, approximately 70,000 was drive on electric, and most of the miles are hard earned city miles. I have solar panels on our roof which offset all costs except grid connection cost, and theoretically all of those miles were solar generated.

The only repairs were fender bender accidents which we had the collision shop work on and fix, and a replaced windshield. Regular maintenance is performed on schedule (5K oil changes and filters).

It is a phenomenally efficient car, incredibly well built, and reliable. For our use case, it has been ideal and the little 8KW battery has been the little locomotive that could...

Another big thanks to all of you on this forum that make it such a resource for us Prius owners!

    Nice to hear!

My wife's 2017 Prius is also an outstanding car but only has 40,000. My only regret is not getting the clear bra protection. It's a light-green color and, now, has tons of pits on the paint on the front/top of the hood and on the mirrors.

At 100k, what is your HV battery capacity, in miles of range?

At only a 30% duty cycle on your ICE; Your actual ICE mileage oil changes are done every 1500 miles - on your 5K mile oil changes.

My actual ICE duty cycle is about the same as yours, but I stick to the OEM 10K oil change interval. That's about 3K actual ICE miles between changes. Since I do my own oil changes; It looks about right. My old Honda had a 5K mile oil change interval and it was dark brown to black when it came out. The Toyota oil is coming out dark amber or very light brown; definitely doesn't look like it has 5K miles on that oil.

    YMMV....
