    Hi everybody.
I saw this hanging down as I walked up to my Prius v wagon 2015 on the driver side. I have tried to find the part in parts diagrams with no luck. I even called a Toyota parts department and they couldn't identify it from my description so I am asking here. I need to get the correct fastener which appears to be a nut with a large diameter washer because the hole the bolt goes through is quite large. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I found this through another post here at priuschat referring to the rocker panel fasterner. I didn't think your shots are showing stuff on the rockers, so I kept looking. Good thing I went back and double checked, this might be the fastener

Here are the other priuschat post about underbody panels that I looked through, but not being a V owner I really don't know what I'm looking at both from your pics above and what shows up in the parts lists / diagrams.

Both are Prius V owners, unless I'm mistaken. I hope they can be more helpful ;)

Thank you so much for your reply. I don't think that is the correct fastener because (I think) the one I need must be a nut with a washer or something. I just cannot find the correct diagram with the part or part number. I'll post more pictures to help narrow the location down.

Here are better pictures. My next step is to just go to the dealership and show them the pictures or drag the parts guy outside to see for himself. Thx

Okay here's a fantastic idea. Take it off the car and read the part number. Solved!

Just go down to the hardware store and buy a couple of metric nuts and some washers.

Did you figure out which part?
From you pics in post #4 it looks to me like the front driver side corner of the panel is hanging.
And I'll assume you took the 3 pics just getting closer to the car from the same angle than under at the same angle as well.
But it doesn't match any of the diagrams I can find.
Is that stud in the middle of the pic from under the car, where the missing fastener attaches too?

I was going to suggest you try to find another fastener under the car that looks similar and use it to see it it secures the hanging panel. Than just use that to show the parts guy.

But I didn't see any others that might be the same under there from your first set of pics.

Maybe there is that one closer to the center of that panel from the pic with the stud right above the panels attachment hole?

I did figure out what it was, and found it in the diagrams. I haven't completed the fix yet because of the fastener issue, but I should have that done this evening. And yes some of the diagrams are misleading.
He's one for this part number. I believe this is for the other part circled in blue in the image of the underside.

I'll post all the correct info and what I did to fix it this evening if I get this done. I want PC to be a complete resource for all Prius parts, fixes, and issues.

Do you need the entire escutcheon?
Or the trim cover retaining nut?
Or the pair of mounting clips?
    See message 7.
These are part numbers for ordering individual parts.

    I needed just these. IMG_20250204_120003.jpg
But I went to the hardware store and got the right size stainless nut and washer. But the bolt does not extend through the plastic. So a flat washer and nut will not work. I have another connector coming today. Should have just ordered original parts. We'll see how this works.

I found that diagram (or a similar one to it ) @MAX2 posted above in #11 at https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/toyota/prius

I also looked at the list of models that diagram on the amayama site includes parts for to make sure the 15 Prius V was included, which it was, but there were 128 other models listed too. :coffee: please.

My first thought when you said "I should have just ordered the OEM parts" was Parts Cannon which I have shot off a few times myself.
And it might have been if going for [IMG] this one at 162 clams, at the first site I found it on.

I might have used gorilla tape instead at that price for a special un-separable parts combo.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the help and suggestions. I appreciate it, even for such a simple thing. I ended up getting parts 90467-17027-C0 and 90467-17026-A0 from the dealership for about $6 total. And I learned that the dealership's employees are less than worthless. You would think that bringing the car in and pointing at the black plastic part that was hanging off it would be enough for them to do even a little work to identify the part and then sell it to me. But Nope! Not my dealership. I asked if anyone in the service department would know and they offered to book me an appointment and pay a diagnostic fee. As far as I am concerned, they do not deserve any loyalty and should be treated as just another vendor, with price alone being the determining factor. Okay that's my rant.

The back plastic part 58168-72010 had a large split in it so I was considering buying a new one, but $95 seemed too much. So I decided to try welding/melting the plastic back together using sunlight and a magnifying glass. It worked really well. Just warmed it up with the intense light, not the focal point as that is too hot and will burn it, and smush it back together with a butter knife. 1738809548619.jpg
Also hardware store hardware will only work for one connection spot. I'm not sure why they decided to design it like this, but the two through holes are not at the same level. 17388092303111.jpg So you need this nut toyota part 90179-06314.jpg or similar hardware for the left hole and this pair of clips for the right one in my picture. toyota 90467-17027-C0 90467-17026-A0.jpg

Also Genuine Japanese Car Part Imports - Amayama has Toyota parts and will ship from Japan. They just sent me a quote for part 58168-72010 for $56.55 total. That price includes international shipping. That's better than any other price I found online. If my magnifying glass repair does not hold up, and it bothers me enough, I am going to order from them.
