Ebay salvage maybe rebuilt from auto parts store? You do run the risk of failure after a lot of labor
Yes, it's possible to get a used brake actuator - but should you? This is going to be an 18 year old used part, with questionable maintenance record. How many miles and how often was the brake system flushed out? How was it stored and was moisture introduced into the system? While the gen2 actuators didn't have as high a failure rate as the gen3; I personally wouldn't take that gamble. Just my 2 cents....
You want to look for the eBay sellers that are located in Conyers Georgia is huge junk yards down in Conyers Georgia I mean huge miles of Toyotas You will see them regularly selling break actuators for the generation 2 and they have enough of them that they can keep sending them until you get a good one If you live in the southeast USA anywhere around Georgia You should take a trip down to Conyers one day I don't know the names of all the places there's several of them in that area Conyers Georgia these places are huge. And yes it is possible you will get good at changing them I can do it in 2 hours now I've had to do it several times to several cars that I own and several customers cars.
