Need a crash course in EGR valve disassembly

when you accept the agreement it states ......... that's one reason why .

I've cleaned the EGR valve and passages in the 02 civic ex and 06 civic hybrid (mx). They were both filty and I did spend some time disassembling the valves. But I wasn't gonna buy a new one unless I completely broke the one I took out, so I stopped before mangling it, which I'm pretty sure I would done if I tried to take more of it apart.
I think the honda valves were only open or closed and I don't remember exactly how they were actuated, electrically somehow, iirc. The kicker of me was when I got the canister shut valve error and had to pull the canister to get at the shut valve. But when I went to pull the valve it wouldn't separate from the canister and I had to get them both. Sucked, I went hungry for a week or two after.
