Hey all, I'm hoping someone can help me out with this as I've been battling with it for way too long. My daughter's 2005 GEN2 Prius threw the same CXXX codes and was told it was the brake actuator, but the car also needed new bearings and drum brakes, so I gave it a go. I bought a used one and it didn't work, so went ahead and bought a new one. I also had to replace a couple of brake lines since I'm in the North East and the car shows. Anyways, here's a quick rundown of where I am.

    1.) Actuator replaced.
2.) Put back together, no leaks(anymore). Can hear the actuator working when you open/close door/step on foot.
3.) I have techstream and attempted to go through the routine, but I'm having issues with the Front Left and Back Right brake lines.
A.) With relays out, I don't get any fluid coming out of the Front Left. I tried pumping a bunch of times and releasing(at least 40).
B.) I then went forward to see what would happen with the relays in.

Results: If I do the 'non scan tool way' - I get a steady stream of fluid in the front left. However, if I go to the back right, I get some fluid and air; but then I hear what sounds like a gurgling sound and almost like it's struggling.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated as I've already dumped probably 3000 dollars into this between tools and parts. I'm hoping to get this @#*)% car out of my garage.

Please let me know if you need anymore information to assist. I can hook techstream up and pull any data that's required.

I just read you need 5 approved posts. So I'm going to post on this thread 4 times(and remove the clutter once a mod can approve). Here's a few pictures I took while working on the car. Hope this helps the mods know I'm a real person.

What brake lines did you replace? Any chance a couple lines at the actuator got swapped?

I would look at brake pressures in Techstream data while pressing on the pedal. Both fronts should change but stay equal left to right under "all" conditions, the rears are lower but similar.

Pull the relays and recheck. Once the accumulator is discharged, the rears should do nothing, the fronts will be lower than with power assist, but should be even L - R.

    Thanks for responding.

Brake Lines Removed (Pictures for the parts and lines):

1.) Line that goes from(not sure part name, but its underneath the reservoir) and enters into the 2nd vertical port(top down) of actuator.

2.) Line that goes from(another not sure part name, about mid of car against firewall) and enters into the 3rd vertical port(top down) of actuator.

3.) Line that goes from(another part I'm unsure the name of, but its to right of actuator) and enters the top of the actuator.

Note: I'm realizing that one thing I did not do was bleed the master cyclinder and I haven't done a linear valve offset or anything like that on the new part with Techstream.

Should I bleed the master cylinder and is there a video of manual out there on how to do this? It's so tight up there, that I was thinking about removing where the lines connect to other hubs or whatever they're called if I should do that.

Also attached is the screenshot of techstream without the relays in and pumping the brakes.

Well, I decided to pay for a TIS subscription to look at the actual diagrams since not knowing the parts was ludicrous. The brake lines I replaced were as follows.

1.) Stroke Simulator Cylinder picture: Line goes to 2nd down in vertical stack of actuator from top down.
2.) Master Cylinder - Line goes on top of actuator after going through 'hub' (still trying to find correct component name on diagrams)
3.) Actuator to 'hub'(not sure name of component, but 3 brake lines go into it) - Middle brake line is going into the 3rd port top down on the actuator.

For some reason, I can't find even a TIS diagram that labels each line and where it goes to ensure this is right, but I'm pretty sure it's connected right because I took a picture ahead of time and had to buy different size brake lines, bend, shape, and replace.
