Traction/hybrid battery questions concerning compatibility

    Good morning everybody

    so I believe my first question is a simple one?
    For the gen three are the batteries for all models of Prius the same .
    I am purchasing a V and I am to believe that its battery would be the same as a standard Prius ?

    do I have this correct?

    so I also have a 2007 Prius that has a bad battery cell bank 12.

    are the individual cells inside the battery the same between a second and third generation Prius?

    I am considering upgrading the 2013 V battery and wondering if I can take the 2013 cells and replace the 2007 cells with the 2013 cells?

    I am to understand that both generations are utilizing the same nickel metal cells to make up their respective hybrid battery modules? So I should be able to remove the 14 banks from the 07 and plug and play the 13 directly into the 07 battery, do have my understanding correctly?

    Yes, Gen3 and Prius V Modules are compatible for Gen2 use, but just the modules, not all the wires and connections, which are different. All these battery packs have 6 individual cells per module, and 2 modules per block and 14 total blocks.

    They're all compatible they may be racked and have different wiring so before you go ripping one apart make sure you take pictures of it of how it's set up for the given vehicle that you're trying to use the modules in they're all the same look the same and so on later ones the vent nipples on the top are blocked off or are not working they're there but they don't pass air or gas or anything The older ones they work so if you're mixing and matching old and new modules one's with vents and without you're going to want to use your vent tubes so that the ones that do vent at least vent out through the tube Just keep that in mind so don't throw your vent tubes out the big pieces of rubber that are on top of the older HV battery packs We can't miss them
