I don't think OP is going to be satisfied until he figures out the Brazilian recipe to an EGR delete. Too bad here in the US we don't like putting a serving of jailbreak sauce on fine, well done Gen 3s.
I would do it if it did not keep the check engine light on AND it did not change the engine operating parameters. However some do block egrs and live with the compromises. Some report unchanged mpg and possibly smoother operation which makes sense if the car is an oil burner accelerating carbon. However in this case the Op needs an engine. Rebuilding his is likely to be a disappointment on a major scale. A good engine can have a functional egr and everybody is happy.
Some might say this is off-topic, but I've had vehicles with head gaskets that kept blowing. I should have had the head machined flat, but instead, I applied gasket goo to both sides of the gasket. My mechanic said I was crazy, but it never did blow after that.
certainy, that is one reason why, but many head gaskets blow before the coolant temp warning comes on. it's not always user mistake, but there are many theories
