How much did you pay for it? What trim is your Prius?

Perhaps get the JBL amplifier and speakers as well?

My 2021 Prius Prime Limited 19" screen has an orange JBL label on its lower frame. My 2020 Prius Prime XLE 19" screen did not have it. So, they are probably different in more than just a label as well.

It isnt that easy, since if you do that youd need to get the wiring harness to connect the headunit to the amp as well. Which means, changing out the whole interior wiring harness since they are all connected together. Doing this method would cost a lot of money, for marginally better audio.

hmm well this proves that they will probably be different head units then.

I'm still in shock at the retail list price for the 12" screen. I have the 12" screen in my limited, and it is very nice, but good grief!

Right?! Absolutely insane. It's probably $5 in parts for them to make them hahaha

It has come down. I recall that it was about $4k for the unit in an earlier version of the Prius...

Hello Ryan-sorry to resurrect an old conversation. Do you know if there is a height difference in the 8 and 12.3 inch displays shells (the latter appears wider and has more screen area (less borders)) but physical height-wise are they the same? (or different) BTW I am referring to the overall shell plastic not the viewable screen itself... Thanks!

It is going to be a lot cheaper and more practical to trade in the car for one with the features you want. That's why I've traded in my 2020 XLE PHEV for a 2021 Limited PHEV. I've upgraded from silver to blue, too!

I don't like the 12" screen's volume knob on the passenger's side. Also, the bigger the screen the more electricity it will drain and too big & too distracting at night. I like the minimalist look of the 8" screen better.

The 8" screen is pretty big as well. When I sat in a Gen 5 XSE at the dealer showroom while waiting for an oil change, I thought the screen was the huge 12.3" screen until I posted a pic here and someone pointed out that it was the 8" screen. There is practically no difference in functionality between them either.
