If you follow the Brazilian system to the end, you will not only need to pull out the tube from the EGR valve and intake manifold, but also close the hole on the intake manifold with a special part. 17123-37010 Cover, Surge Tank

prove to them your an idiot, come you up with bulletproof plan

something not add up reveal to you your flaw

you come here stating that you gonna fix you a head gasket

then some trolling narrative on that internet made you have hope that you didnt,

and that your prius was just drinking its oil from PCV/EGR

then your panty was up in a bunch when you found out again that you need to fix you a head gasket

    what an idiot

now that dust settle, come you up with bulletproof plan and share the whole process with forum

exact plan: get you all the part that make prius engine bulletproof, build it with clear picture and help other keep their gold in their pocket,

and keep gliding through their realm japanese engine purring

you read couple post on this forum where people put jdm part in their prius engine

goal: put you some high grade quality product inside your japanese block

experiment: can we make prius engine not have the gasket issue and be bulletproof?

get you the highest quality gasket even if it is not toyota

get you jdm piston/ring/connecting rod bearing

get you maybe new jdm connecting rod (optional)

anything high grade made in japan catered to solve this issue (within reason)

suspicion: with some investment, we can build BULLETPROOF jdm prius engine and solve the headgasket issue once and for all

yes, also @MAX2 spill sauce on the brazilian prius without the egr scam

woah, could this thread take you the whole way, make your 1.8 japan work of art bulletproof? where

    1. bulletproof inside engine with jdm,

    2. do an actual egr delete where no exhaust get inside your japanese investment

get you around the "check engine" using nerd method

summary: everyone spill the sauce on what need to get ordered asap,

and spill the sauce on how to do nerd stuff about the full egr delete

Are we rapping or creating automotive poetry?

There is nothing that will make a gen3 engine bulletproof or even as good a gen4.

No one is putting JDM parts in their gen3 engine. Some put in the Toyota revised parts for a gen3 engine like pistons, rings, intake manifold, egr valve, head gasket and updated ecu software. But doing that on a bad engine can easily fail when the block or head have cylinder scoring, warping or the head was not rebuilt.

I assume you mean get around the egr delete check engine light and code. Please describe how you do that; it's a new one to me. The egr test runs almost every drive and tests for egr valve control. It also tests for flow at cruising speeds and for no egr flow at low rpms.

    --------

What have Thousands of people before you with Worn Out engines done for high reliability?

    a) Replace with a professionally rebuilt engine from a place like Hybridpit and ensure they get the version with revised pistons and rings. This option could be implemented by most shops or by some diy'ers as could option b).

    b) Replace their gen3 engine with a hopefully better low mile gen3 used in Japan JDM engine. This is the lowest cost option here but the biggest risk. It may not be low miles and it may not be used in Japan. It could be a JDM engine from 2010-2021 but there is no way to tell which year. It could also be another worn out US engine sold as JDM. Nevertheless it is an option that might make sense to the budget constrained buyer who does not want the cost of option a) above or the complexity of option c) below.

    c) Attempt to install a good gen4 engine into their gen3 car usually with gen3 ecus, exhaust, egr system and some custom wiring and aux cooling setups. This option is almost always diy.

How to avoid a worn out engine is another subject that is irrelevant at this point. Plenty of theories on Priuschat.
