Hello everyone, I started researching because my car was running out of oil and I learned that this would cause the egr system.
I couldn't help myself and started to clean the egr system.
I tried to clean the Egr cooler but it didn't work. And I bought a new one and installed it. At first there was a very bad smelling white smoke. I smelled a lot of gasoline before I cleaned it.I got on the highway and drove about 100 miles.I made a lot of mistakes up to this point but I fixed them and discovered parts that needed to be replaced. And I didn't disconnect the battery while I was doing this. The car started very rough and jerky.
Now I have a lot of error codes. I would like to ask for help from you. I would appreciate if knowledgeable people can comment together that Cat has not changed and the error codes that may be related to it.I think there were faults with the cat before. I will replace the sensors in the exhaust section with the cat in the near future.

I would clear codes with a scanner or by disconnecting the 12v for a few minutes and hope for the best.

Cleaning / replacing the egr components will not fix excessive oil burning. Only rebuilding the engine with the updated pistons and rings will fix oil consumption on these engines.

Most likely the 420 code, if it returns in a couple of days, is a clogged or loss of efficiency catalytic converter from oil burning.

Smoke could be due to coolant in the exhaust while you had it apart but if it continues past the first 10 minutes it is likely a severe head gasket fail. In this case you would soon see the engine coolant going down in the reservoir. The severe rattling at engine on would continue on a random basis. If it does not use coolant in a week and no severe startups happen again you have dodged a bullet.

Egr system was clogged. Now the system is clean but the cat is clogged. I cleaned the air intake and renewed the gaskets and assembled it. the engine sometimes started to run unstable and jerky, I don't know if it was better not to clean it. White smoke from the exhaust stopped. For now, it sometimes runs rattling.
