Today i got this infamous Check the connection of the Air Conditioner message. Seems like loose connection. If i try to turn on the display again, it works fine. I scanned with Autel and no error code (since it was working when it scanned).

Did anyone had issue like this? All the posts i saw referring to the replacing the MFD. But all of them, was kind of dead. Not intermittent.

This car does not like cold weather. First the P0420 which magically disappears when the weather warms up and now this.

Seems it became permanent. All symptoms of bad connection inside.

I tried the self test multiple times. Seems it re initiated the connection. The failure point was to the AV module communication. Shows a clear sign of communication break somewhere. Seems like a loose solder joint. Now need to buy a used one and replace it. 86110-47071 or 86110-47081 fits a 2009 base model? does any one know?

    After the self test...

Any of the four button MFDs should work in your base You have no backup camera or anything like that so you're good even if you use an MFD that accepts the backup camera it does not have to be there so that opens up your choices for more MFDs I have several bases with MFDs that go in well above the base vehicle with no problem they plug right up and work just fine All the buttons everything is the same

Whoa whoa whoa we're getting way off track here If you're going to use the seven button remote you will need the GPS nonsense that goes under the driver's seat I think it's a CD player and cabling and all of that you're not going to do that in a base car any kind of easy just like you're not going to add SKS to a base car not any kind of easy you'll pull your hair out doing that nonsense You could possibly rig up the camera again for certain types of folks this is not going to be a thing It would be cheaper for you to buy a Clarion radio with a camera and all that with the radio and make that work then it will messing around with the wiring in the Toyota and doing whatever might have to be done seems the base car is missing wiring so your best to just use your four button MFD for the functions that your car already has and leave well enough alone You seem to have a lot of problems as it is Don't add to them I have backup cameras and all four of my cars I can't remember the last time I looked at the screen while backing up like never so there's always that I mean sure it'll make your car seem like it's up to date and real modern I guess if that's something that interests you but other than that is that what you really want to be doing to a car that you need to be driving? All the MFDs for the most part will plug up and the functions you have will work obviously if you don't have a camera there's nothing to plug into that spot and if you don't have GPS you don't have the blue receptacle or the blue plug for the antenna for the GPS and your car doesn't have the antenna You don't want to add all that I'm pretty sure but all of the four button MFDs should work in your base forget about the seven button and the GPS You're barking up a tree that you don't even want to pee on the base of

    It is 86110-47081.

There were no 10mm bolts attaching this to the frame. Seems it was replaced before. Also was missing a screw on the bottom panel. Planning to buy the 10mm bolts also.

It is clearly a loose connection. If i fiddle the connector, the one on the left (that is the only white one connected), it works and then stops after some time. Loose solder inside.

Top 2 white ports are N/C.

The 2 10mm bolts and screw, The part numbers good? Any idea? The bolts are to hold the MFD in place and the screw for the bottom panel.

The screws you want I mean where are you? I can send you a couple that just standard Toyota threaded screws used throughout the car they hold your front fender on same thing You can buy them at the home Depot or Lowe's or tractor supply has a good selection of metric this is a real popular size I'm surprised they can't rattle it off right off top take a spare with you take the one from the other side on the MFD to the store and put it in the bolt checker and then you'll know the official size and pitch and you can buy screws nuts bolts all of it

Just bought a used unit from eBay. I have some 10mm bolts from the other cars. Need to try it first. otherwise i will check Home Depot.

It is strange.. no bolts to hold them. wonder what he was thinking.. the person who replaced it earlier.
