Hit a broken tire on highway

    or the difference between generic inexpensive (Harbor Freight?) zip ties and quality zip ties. There's a HUGE difference in quality between cheap and not so cheap ties. There's a time and place for everything. My best experience has been the zip ties that have a small stainless steel insert where the tie locks together.

    Ty-Rap by Thomas&Betts part # TY526MX is the one I commonly use around the shop when small width is needed.

    I’d have no qualms about using zip ties, short term for dangling plastic, but would want to rectify with proper fasteners before long.

    I have used black zip ties long term, to secure block heater cord at front grill slats, lasted fine. Next to no UV there though.
