My Prius ate a bookshelf for lunch (Updated) This is a 6ft x 2ft x 1ft pine bookshelf my car had for lunch today. Still had room for a passenger. After 2 years, the car continues to amaze me. ------------------------------------ Update! The front passenger seat does fold (near) flat. I can't believe I just figured this out now. You have to take off the front headrest, slide seat forward, and fold the front seat back all the way BEFORE folding the rear seat. Now fold the rear seat-back. You can leave the rear headrest on if you wish. Now it eats up 8' lumber with ease. Should protect the front dash in case of sudden braking, though.
Sweet. Did you forget about your previous thread? http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/90008-example-prius-cargo-capacity.html
nope. When the item is bigger, and less configurable, it's even more impressive. I really wish the front seats would fold flat. My Accord used to do that and it makes a huge difference. I doubt it's difficult or $$$ to do. Maybe just an oversight on Toyota's part.
They say that the front passanger seat on the v folds flat I have yet to play around in one and see for myself. You are correct it would be nice if our regular old Priuses had a flat folding front seat.
Updated due to my continuing obsession with cargo capacity Now the front passenger seat fold flat. See my OP.
That's what I wanted to see not some dude lounging around sitting in the rear seat sprawled out across the flattened front seat. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-v-main-forum/101334-flatten-front-seats.html see post #5 PriusChat Forums - Chazz8's Album: Front seat flat makes for a nice view from back seat What is the length of that 2x4, or what is the hatch to dash length? It looks perfect for transporting surfboards.
Thanks for sharing! This is exactly what I was looking for. I am looking to buy an 8ft step ladder in the near future, and was wondering if the front passenger seat in 2010 Prius would fold flat while the back seats were also folded flat in order to be able to o transport it.
A v can transport 10 ft goods with the hatch closed and a 10 ft stepladder with the hatch tied down over the ladder.
