My wife and I love our 2014 Prius V, and want to keep it for another 5-10 years. The only issue is road noise. We took first steps for sound dampening- a local shop installed sound mats in the doors and rear hatch. We certainly notice some improvement, ride is quieter and radio easier to listen to. Although the decibels (via iphone app) haven't changed much - hovering around 65db in most driving situations.

What do others here recommend as next steps? I have a bunch of MLV (mass loaded vinyl) left over from a house remodel project. Shoud we use that in the rear (spare tire area) floor? Any other suggestions for best return on investment? Wheel wells? Front hood ? Any input welcomed. Better to spend another $ 1k or so to keep this great car going and enjoyable to drive, we think. (than to buy another new or used car and spend tens of thousands on that)

Rear mat area. Better tires like Michelin Defenders. Make sure your under engine cover exists and is the one with sound deadening.
