I’m new to the forum and this question may have already been discussed. I bought a new Prius Prime three months ago and really like it so far. As we all know, there is no spare tire, but I would like to be able to pull a flat tire off if I needed to on the road. Since I need a jack to do this, I would like to find an after market one that would fit in the styroform slot in the trunk but don’t want to pay a dealer over $200 for one. Does anyone know of an aftermarket jack that would work?
The official set should be under $100, according to OEM spare tire install | PriusChat The kit you should be buying is a sensible price. The individual parts are more expensive.
KMO is correct. You can currently get the tool kit(jack, jack handle, lug wrench) for $91.71(inc. free shipping). If you wait for a bit, you should be able to get it for about $73.37 during a 20% off sale. Here's an example of one dealership with the max discount, but there are probably others that are closer to you that have the same 31% off: Box Set, Jack
Can anyone tell me what fits in the OTHER styrofoam cutouts now that I have the jack and tire tools??
Whatever you like But I did this a while back in another thread, based on all the official sources I could find: Plus the trays also have little cut-outs apparently intended to hold the guide pin and wheel bolt socket the car was going to need before the last-minute switch from wheel bolts to nuts, due to the problems seen with the bz4X. Could still use it for a special locking nut thingy. Window grommet explained here: Gasket for power cord through rear side window | PriusChat
Was that your graphic? I was assuming it was toyota's, and they purposely leave the spare unnoted,, thinking the less said the better.
The pinch welds at front and back are marked and easy to find. Work perfectly with a quickjack with pinchweld blocks....
