Won’t start gears flash on dash

2008 Toyota Prius 110,000+ miles here, went to get into the car one morning and car would not start, gear selector indicator on the dash was flashing and would not change gears. Upon inspection of the engine compartment fuse box-which hasn’t had a cover on it since my wife bought it 3 years ago, I find out after taking the fuse relay box out that one of the terminals for the hybrid system was corroded. I’m cleaning the relay with baking soda and vinegar to remove the corrosion and when dry I’m gonna put a new fuse in it and see if that fixes it. What do y’all think? Was this the culprit?
