I've had my '07 Touring for a week now, had I just noticed that the rear seat armrest doesn't stay at a horizontal position, but swings all the way down until its front end is resting on the seat cushion. It's not supposed to do this, right? Maybe it just broke, or maybe my kids were trying to use it as a diving board, I can't say. Is the armrest known to be fragile? Do you think I have any chance of getting this fixed under warranty? BTW, I just finished installation of the $99 XM/Terk satellite radio system, and it works like is is supposed to, and I managed not to break or scratch any of the many pieces of dashboard and interior I had to remove. I have some photos of where I installed the radio and interface boxes that I will post when I get a chance. Doug
The arm rests are made out of plastic and they are connected to the interior door plastic piece by melting the plastic. Did you get leather installed from dealer or someone else? It is possible that someone broke it while installing. See the pics I took when I installed mine. I broke off the top 3 and crazy glued back later. I got one of those industrial strength crazy glue. I think dougbraun is talking about the center armrest. If so yes it does go all the way down to the seat.
In my '04 the center fold down armrest slants down like yours if that is the one you are referring to.

yeah, it goes all the way to bottom. Odd since the Yaris sedan's rear armrest stops horizontally and it's half the price!
