I pulled the wheel covers off my black 17 inch LE wheels for a look at the brakes and would like to leave them off. I ordered some cheap 62mm "Toyota" caps off amazon and the tabs cracked when I tried to press them in.

Have any of you solved this problem? If so, what did you use?

The 19” rims come with centre caps from the factory? Track down that part no? Bit of a gamble, but maybe someone online has tried (on the 17” rims), posted the outcome.

About $20 each. Wait for the next sale and get a set of 4 for about $60.

I thought there was also a black on black option from a different Toyota model, but all I can find by searching tonight are chrome caps that are painted black and resold on ebay. So maybe I was wrong and Toyota doesn't make a black on black version.

Thanks both for the quick responses.

I hadn't thought to look through the Toyota catalogue for caps for 19" wheels. I don't place a lot of trust in the compatibility guides, and I've searched on the assumption (apparently incorrect) that all Toyota 5x114.3 wheels would use compatible wheel caps.

Lots of guides think the 23-24 Prius still uses 5x100 wheels, and even the Toyota parts page lists the 23-24 Prius as having a 1.8 liter engine.

Looking through the specs on third party sites, the cap diameters are lifted from other sources at least partially. One place listed the diameter of the 42603-0E070 as 50mm or 2.5 inches, sizes so grossly different you know the entry wasn't even proofread.

I might just wait for service and let the local dealer put some on. At least I would know they fit.

Even OEM sites have been real slow to list Gen 5 parts and cross referencing is double or triple as hard as it used to be prior to 2023 model years. That is IF anyone besides the dealer parts lookup can find any one specific part. I'm not sure if the dealer lookup is as messed up as dealer online parts lookup has been, I'll guess that if it has been, they airn't talkin about it publicly.

If I had a Gen 5 I'd be checkin online OEM parts sites using the cars VIN like most dealers.

Unfortunately that doesn't even always work. I know for a fact that 42603-0E070 is the correct part number for the wheel caps on my 2023 Limited. But if I enter my VIN on the OEM parts site(autoparts.toyota.com), it doesn't list that part number as a match.

The dealer parts site is far better(it's what I use, but it costs me about $5.25 every time I use it), but even there I have to sometimes do cross checking as it doesn't always have the most current part number. For example, the dealer parts site said the part number was 42603-42170, but entering that number into autoparts.toyota.com gets you 42603-0E070 as the newest version of that part.

I bought these on Ebay for about $10 for all four including shipping. They have worked well and look fine, imo.

    The seller is

I appreciate the benefit of your experience. Those are smaller than my caliper measurements suggested, but I'll rest more confidence in experience than my measurement.

I'm good with plain caps too.

autoparts.toyota.com doesn't seem to list any wheel cap as a fit for my 2024 Prime XSE Premium, but I see some dealer sites have listed part 42603-52170 as a fit, and 0E070 is not listed as a fit

From looking at the vehicle fitment list for 42603-52170, it looks to me like that database* is just reusing the cap that worked on the gen4. The problem with that is the gen4 had a hub size of 54.1mm, while the gen5 has a hub size of 60.0 or 60.1mm. While it's not impossible that the gen4 cap might fit on a gen5 wheel, I have my doubts.

I'll link the pdf I got from MicroCat. If you look to the 2nd page, you'll see 42603-42170 listed as the correct cap. If you plug that into either of the retail databases, it'll spit out 42603-0E070 as the current version of that part.

*There are a least a total of three official Toyota parts databases. MicroCat is the most official as it's used by most Toyota dealerships in the US(not including the southeast region) as well as Europe and maybe Asia. Then you have the second-best database at autoparts.toyota.com which is run by a 3rd party, but is the one that the official Toyota website links to. Finally, you have the other 3rd party database that is used by dozens of other parts websites. If you pay attention to the layout and design language of the website you're on, you can tell which database it's linked into. MicroCat is the most accurate, autoparts.toyota.com seems to give the most updated info(though it's not the most accurate, and the 3rd database can sometimes be useful when the other two fail, but it can also be the least accurate.

I'll confirm that they don't fit. I tried the cap from my 5x100 Prius wheels in my 17" 5x114.3 Prius wheels. They are too small.

That’s telling. Toyota USA parts site was invaluable, till 2-3 years back, when it inexplicably went through an “upgrade”. Maybe explicable

Careful of going tinfoil hat on this. The one I use is absolutely not for the average consumer. If you have a hard time with TIS, you're not going to like this one either. It's meant for parts departments and those who deal with parts every day and can get used to the interface. I personally find it easy, but my brain is weird that way.
