Hey idk where you are, but I just saw a Prius Prime on Craigslist for $11,000 w 211k in Santa Barbara CA. It’s from a private seller and he notes that the interior is “not perfect” which makes me think seller may even go lower than $11k.
    Also a rav4 prime w 176k for $22k at a stealership in OC.

Sadly I think a lot of these instances of ‘false advertising’ are actually somewhat ‘legit’, because the seller (dealer or private) is factoring in a very theoretical ev tax credit. Ie, advertising and/or discussing the vehicle’s sale price being around $4,000 dollars less than what ends up being the actual price.

Purchased a 21 Prime, low mileage but not certified. Now running down accessory rabbit holes...wondering which ones are worth it (and which brands stood the test of time.) - Separate thread created.

There are also income limits on who qualifies to receive the tax credit. Read all of the fine print. This may also influence how much the dealer is willing to negotiate. And I believe you are required to buy from a dealer to receive the credit- and receive the completed paperwork from the dealer at the time of purchase.
