I have a 2024 Prius LE. SiriusXM offered me service for $5/month so I signed up. I'm getting the channels, but the car says that it has to satellite signal. We are going on a trip at the end of next month. I want to make sure that the satellite antenna is working because this will likely be the only radio that we can get for a good part of the trip. I've called SiriusXM, reset the radio, and I get Sirius probably over a cell or phone connection according to the infotainment system I'm still not getting a satellite connection. Has anyone else had a similar experience. Is there anything else that I might check?
I would research what kind of service you bought for $5/month. Might be just the internet and not the satellite radio service. I think I am paying more than $5 per month for my SiriusXM service.
Was it working before your trial subscription ended? If that's the case, there is nothing wrong with the car. I have been paying about $15 for the music-only service since my trial subscription ended. There won't be a signal unless you can see the sky or there are terrestrial transponders nearby.
Same here !but I use Apple car play my iPhone 16 so its perfect, I originally declined service ( on phone call with XM customer service rep originally wanted $24 dollars a month) I said no way, that when she said hold let me check something that's when she came with the $5mo and I took it!!! I have YouTube Music I get with my YouTube premium everything commercial free and the variety of music endless, can set up Queue or playlists! and content you can't get on other platforms!! apple car play works flawlessly with with the Toyota head unit!!!
I took it to the dealership and they said that everything is working like it is supposed to. We are going on a trip so I contacted AT&T for a Wifif plan. Now the sat symbol is green. LOL!
I still think that you are getting SeriusXM via a cell site, not via a satellite. That's why its only $5/month.
