Good afternoon, I have a 2011 Prius 4 with dark leather seats and have never had the interior properly cleaned in the decade I have owned it. Since the interior is dark, it took me this long to realize how dirty it is and I wanted to know the best cleaners for the seats, center console, seat belts, door panels, etc that won't leave a residue or damage my interior. Also what cleaning techniques are recommended?
Is your interior leather perforated little holes in it or is it smooth and feel rubbery kind of like seal skin If so the seal skin like material is soft tech not leather or leather at some form of a rubber or something I have soft tech interior I clean it with Dawn and water mixture and then you can use pick your poison of some kind of vinyl pleather preservative etc similar to armor All and so forth You do want to be careful you don't want to make the seats too slippery that you cause yourself an accident The perforated leather on the other hand is some form of some kind of hide bonded to fabric and made into slipcovers for the foams and the seats for the Prius that I use the leather cleaner and leather preservative from I can't remember who it's in a clear bottle I think they're two steps seems to do relatively well in the solar roof car that has this interior that we had but that perforated leather peels and you can't stop it.
Thank you or the reply. I had assumed mine were softex, but I had seen a blog that the 2011 were leather. My seats are the perforated kind, but they don't feel like leather and they hold up much better which is why I had always assumed they were softex.
