I own a 2015 Prius C. I have to park it on the street across from my home. If I don't drive it everyday the battery dies. I am wondering if so should try a solar charger. However, how do I connect the cables? Thanks.
If the battery is already dying every day it is probably ready to be replaced. ...And a solar charger is a reasonable idea for preventing that next battery from failing as early & often as the current one. If I were in your situation I would either place the solar panel on the dashboard or mount it to the left rear door window. If it's on the dash you may need to take it down each time you drive the car just to get rid of the reflection- but that's not terrible. If you used suction cups to attach it to the left rear door glass, it could theoretically stay mounted there without you having to ever move it. The only downside is that it may catch less light, but it might not be too bad. Either way, you'd route the cable down to the floor and up behind the plastic panel under the right rear seat cushion. From there you can connect it to the battery. Don't forget a fuse close to the battery itself. There are a few ways to skin this cat. Good luck!
Maybe way too much detail, and it relates to solar charger installation in a second generation Honda Civic Hybrid, but might be some pointers: Guide: Installing a solar panel on the HCH-II (step-by-step) | CleanMPG @MSantos is a member here as well.
