    Hi there,

I have.a gen 3 with nearly 200k miles on it and I got the code’ pull over and check hybrid system’

My 12v battery has been bad for a couple of weeks, I have had to put it on charge overnight otherwise car wouldnt start in the morning.

When I got the code I assumed my hybrid battery to be dead, however having replaced the 12v battery the code has gone and now shows as ;inactive; on my code reader.

Is it possible for a bad 12v battery to trigger the hybrid battery coide?

I am still expecting to need to replace the hybrid battery soon but if it can live a little longer, that would be handy.

It is possible, but not probable. Just drive the car and see if the P0A80 code returns again. If it does, a replacement HV battery is in your future.
