The pegs have snapped on the inside of the master window switch on two of the buttons that control the rear windows. Does anywhere sell just the shell/case or do I have to buy the whole unit.

I've added all the pictures for context. It might save someone else from driving with a taped up window for 18 months! And wasting time replacing regulators.

Gen2 Prius are one of the most abundant vehicles in the world... You need to find a broken down one you can get the part from or find it online. Of course I'm not clear on what UK does with wrecked cars? In the US most every town has a wrecked car lot and you just go into the yard and pull off the parts you need and pay for them. But in the 13 years I've been on here I've never heard of people in the UK being able to do this? If true that's very short-sided of your government to no allow that type of sensible reuse.

Junkyard or ebay... start with "for parts" ... buy if pics satisfy you.

Shotgunning the problem can cause regulators to fall out of the sky..,

Found the unit for £15 on ebay. I was just thinking same could happen again as the plastic is old in all these units whereas a new shell with my working circuit board might last longer. We can go to scrap yards and remove parts but they all sell online now so it's easier to do that.

You might have a point if the car was less than a 1/2 dozen years old, but It's a 20 year old car.... It's all about patching it up and keeping it going as affordably as possible for as long as possible.

That being said, you could probably find a way to reinforce it on the back side if you want.

Try Digikey, they sell a zillion electronic components. If you measure the original to high precision and then go through their immense product list, you may find one that works. Either by donating the switch cover or by being able to bolt in to replace it. It won't be an exact shape match, probably, but it would function.

Alternatively, have somebody scan the broken part, then modify the resulting drawing file to add the broken posts back in, then have one printed. Or a dozen, and sell the extras to cover the cost of the work. Maybe start with "custom 3d printing near me" and see where it leads. Check your library, some rent time on 3D printers, and some (probably not many), have 3D scanners. I think the LA County library has one scanner for public use, in a county with 10 million people. I'm betting that many of the services that do custom 3D printing can also do the scanning.
