Hi all. It's been a long while but I need an explanation. I had all 4 of the TPMS replaced Yesterday at Costco. The tire pressure light was flashing and manual says if it's flashing It's more than tire pressure. 1 was bad and 2 others were on the way out so I just had the mechanic replace them all. PSI was fine Anyway, on the way out of the parking lot I had almost no brakes. The car WANTED to stop but the pedal was almost to the floor. Than god I was going really slow slow trying to avoid all the people shopping. All the brake related warning lights were on: VCS, ABS, Brake and traction. Had it towed to dealer today and they did a scan and found the codes c1203, c1336, c1345, c1392. They performed an initialization and calibration for the linear solenoid valve. Warning lights are now off and brakes seem normal. Costco is being very responsive so far so no complaints there. I have a couple of questions. Would replacing the TPMS cause this? Would a problem with the linear solenoid cause the loss of the brakes? Love having this resource and all the good advice.
From first-hand experience, an intermittent connection to OBD2 while driving can also throw a Christmas tree of dashboard lights and degrade regenerative braking. R&R and they go away.
Personal experience, with a constantly plugged in Scangauge. Had 3 (at least, may have lost count) instances, various brake lights showing, plus change in brake feel (increased effort needed). Last check by a dealership mechanic, he pointed out his Techstream connection was dropping when he tapped the cable, suggested I try disconnecting the SG. Worked.
Same. A P12 device in my case. Suggests that the OBD2 port is not just passive, rather, duplex, requiring constant continuity when in monitoring mode.
