I've been trying to search for this but couldn't find anything, I apologize if this has already been discussed to death. My daughter just bought a 2016 Gen 3 and I have wheels/tires from a Gen 2 taking up space in my garage. She needs snow tires now and I'm wondering if she can use the garage wheels. Or should she just start over and buy new everything? Thoughts appreciated!

A 2016 Prius (regular hatchback) is not a Gen 3. It is a Gen 4. A 2016 Prius v (wagon) is a Gen 3. Please specify what car you are talking about to eliminate any confusion.

I have Gen3 wheels on my Gen2 Prius so it works the opposite of what you're trying to do. Of course maybe it's different in Gen4?

Pretty sure 5 x100mm is the number of bolts and distance between them on Gen4 too.

According to the VIN it's a 2016 Prius Three.

The "Three" is the trim (options) level of the car. So if it is not the wagon, it is a Gen 4. The exterior styling of the Gen 4 is much different than a Gen 3.

    It's not a wagon so I guess it's a Gen 4! I didn't realize this - thanks.

We'll probably get new wheels then, the wheels I have are 16" and stock on these is 15".

And thanks very much for the clarification.

They will bolt right up put the 16 that would give you same OD something like 195 55 16. Ride on

If you keep your eyes on craiglist you can regularly find people who replaced their Prius wheels and tires at the same time and have a hard time selling a set of four OEM wheels. That's how I bought my Gen3 wheels... It was $125 for a set of four with worn out tires mounted on them because seller couldn't get any interest at a higher price. I was very pleased! I've seen similar prices on craigslist many times.
