2008 Prius: Engine rattling sound followed by Engine light.

    Hello

    I recently bought my 2008 Prius 4 months ago and now it has 125k mileage.No issue since i bought it until today when it gives a rattling sound (really loud from the inside) followed by engine check light. My plan is to take it to dealership for diagnosis.

    i attached the video of the engine and was looking for input for what might cause the issue.




    I did not see any leak nor something burning smell. Additionally, would like to know if i should just towed the car to the shop (~20 min drive) or should be fine to drive.

    Toyota Stealerships are warranty specialists... Their job is to make the most expensive possible repairs on vehicles under warranty and charging Toyota for it.

    To take a 17 year old Prius to them is like giving someone a blank check to your savings account. Sometimes they'll get $4K out of you only to come back later and say that didn't fix it and it will cost another $4K. They're rotten to the core!

    Do you have a friend or family member that works on cars? We can walk them through any and all repairs in an affordable way.
