    Hello,

I have been trying to install an aftermarket head unit to my 2011 Prius (Navi + IPA) for a while now. The harnesses that I have bought seem not to be compatible with my specific trim:

    - The sound system doesn't fully work with the harness (the woofers in the front doors are not being utilized). It seems that virtually every single harness is configured for either the JBL variant (which to my knowledge is a US specific option) or the base 6-speaker sound system. I have the Premium trim, which has an 8-speaker sound system. What kind of modifications do I need to do to the harness in order to make it work with my system?

    - The steering wheel controls don't work. A/C controls do work, but for some reason the aftermarket head unit didn't seem to detect any signals from the media controls when I tried to program them. In this guide the author mentions that you need a Canbus box for them to work, but I have not been able to find any more information on this either. The guide also has pictures of two different harnesses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been stuck with this issue for a long time now.

Below are images I found from the internet of my head unit (model number B9016), since it'd be kind of a hassle to remove it for only the reason of taking pictures.

Contact the manufacturer, or the place you purchased it from.
Crutchfield is pretty good and making a harness that works.
I believe you need something seperate so the steering wheel controls will work

It would be good to share the harness and aftermarket head unit you bought. Without that we can't really know how to help for your specific install.

It does not look like Crutchfield offers something for the 2011 Prius with Navigation and Park Assist. You can check for yourself here: https://www.crutchfield.com/car/outfitmycar/mycar.aspx

For the steering wheel controls, page 24 of the PDF of the other thread you linked shows the wiring diagram and which wires need to be connected where for it to work, but that specific to the wires of the radio that the guide is based on. You will need to match the wires to whatever your radio has.
But first you need to make sure that your aftermarket radio supports the steering wheel controls directly. If not then you will need to use an interface box like Maestro SW / Axxess ASWC-1 / PAC SWI-CP2.
