I was driving the other day during daylight hours and a few times my display intermittently dimmed and then went back to normal. Anyone heard of this?
There is a dimmer adjustment near your left knee. One time I had to move my driver's seat forward to accommodate hauling a lot of gear. This caused my knee to brush the dimmer controls. After the event when I got in the car to drive home, it was dark, and my dashboard was completely black. I was in a panic, until I noticed the dimmer adjustment.
If your gen 3 has the full-auto headlight feature, and the headlights or taillights are on (whether automatically or turned on by you), then the dash will switch between bright and dim according to the outside light level. Usually something you'll notice when driving around dawn or dusk, or going under bridges or into parking decks, etc
