Article I section 9 says it won't happen that any officeholder accepts any foreign emolument without Congress's consent. Which person(s) in which branch(es) had responsibility to step up and have that not happen?

Amendment XIV section 3 says it won't happen that anyone becomes a member of congress or holds any civil or military office (among other things) after having engaged in, or aided/comforted, insurrection or rebellion against the constitution while under oath to it. Which person(s) in which branch(es) had responsibility to step up and have that not happen?

That recent civics and government education has put a sobering light on the ability of words on a page to enforce themselves if no one is found to be responsible for them.

 

For sure those like Amend 14 section 3 weren’t upheld. The Jan 20 swearing in is locked in stone though. There is no person who gets to decide any changes to those specific words.

In Trumps first term, he tried a number of unconstitutional acts. For the most part, his cabinet advised him that he can't do those things.
Many were fired or quit. This time around, Trump is filling important positions with people loyal to him, and not the constitution.

Loyalty above all. It didn’t take intelligence, it’s his life from decades of demanding loyalty or you are attacked and out. Preferably your life is ruined if you say one untoward word about him. he will see to it. I watched a lot of his tv show. I couldn’t understand why people were fired on the spot if they said one negative word about their team.
If democrats want to win against whoever he is endorsing in 2028 they better get on the loyalty to their candidate band wagon.

Modern Trump is often quick to forgive earlier transgressions after the Ring has been kissed. See Little Marco Rubio for one example.

I will not judge in this case because I listened to 3 hours of P45 on Rogan.
He's actually a fairly funny person and an excellent communicator in his own way.

Not sure if I would willingly listen to his vanquished opponent for three hours...........although she DID have the same 'opportunity.'

 

Somehow watching extreme hubris and a mans desire for power draws people in. It must be in our genetic code with tens of thousands of years of tribes having a chief. Rarely they were women. I’m not drawn in much to it but see it in me as well.

 

I would say she absolutely never had the same opportunities of her opponent. For some reason ten million or so more people voted for future President Biden. Tactics degrading or blaming people for things they didn’t do, works. The final tallies are about in now. Some race in Calif was just settled, democrats gained a house seat. So much for the nonsense that the election counting has to stop on election night. It never does that.

 

Maybe that’s why I am aware of who he really is. Although his awol from being a President from the election to Biden’s inauguration, crowned by Jan 6, should have been enough awareness for anyone.
