TPMS batteries show good but 2 of 4 not registering pressure

    TPMS light on.

Reading TPMS using Techstream, 2 TPMS sensors reporting in correctly, 2 are showing no pressure, yet all four show battery voltage "over" which means good as far as I understand.
Was going to replace batteries in sensors (yes, dig them out of the silicone and spot weld in new ones) but now I'm not sure that will fix it.

What do you think is going on when battery voltage is reporting in "over" but no pressures reported?

    Thank you.

It may be that once the TPMS software sees no signal it sets blank pressure and doesn't bother setting the voltage state, so what you see there is random. I mean, once the signal is gone, all it could do is guess at what caused the failure (maybe the wheel was stolen!), and so while "low" might be right part of the time, it won't be all the time. Ideally that battery field would have values low, high, and NA, but apparently they didn't implement it like that.

Ok, so it sounds like replacing the batteries or replacing the sensors will be the next step. I will let you know what I find.

    Thank you!

I paid $24 for a set of four of these things that look like the originals I don't care if they're fake or not and they all work perfectly I don't think I'd be digging the batteries out and trying to keep these 20-year-old things working I don't think not when they're so inexpensive anyway I mean think about it TPMS sensors in this date and time should be about 7 or $8 a pop.

On Amazon there are sets of 4 made by (some company you have never heard of before which won't exist next year) for $30-$40ish.

On RockAuto individual sensors by Denso or Schrader run around $40.

I can see buying a set of the cheap ones and keeping them in a pressurized tube as an inexpensive way of turning off the TPMS light. However, if I wanted better confidence in the actual TPMS system working for the next 10 years I think I would pay for sensors more likely to last that long. Especially since the cost of installing the good ones will be the same as for the cheap ones, and over 10 years, the difference of about $120 isn't a lot of money.

If somebody made a set that worked externally and was compatible with Toyota's TPMS I might consider cheaper ones, since then replacing them wouldn't be such a PITA. However, as far as I can tell no such beast exists.

We'll see how it goes I generally check my tires more times a week or month than I ever even think about the light on the dash I just wanted it off but they seem to work well and seem to be made by the same manufacturer I have originals out fakes in if that's what they are and another set of fakes sitting over here on the shelf and all the logos and everything are encrypted and put into the plastic the same way they've done away with the green and red in the Pacific logo that used to be there That's about it but when I look at them with text software it says the same thing all the other four said the whole time they were installed and we're starting to go bad don't know how accurate they are I know my tire gauge is and before doing any lengthy trips pulling anything stuff like that usually that's all looked over I do get flats where I am so I have to kind of keep an eye on tyres.
