    I remember that part. <laughs>

I was having a problem with it, too. I got the tool wedged in like the image shows, but it wasn't coming off and I was afraid to pull in the wrong direction. I paused for a moment to shift some stuff off my lap(with the tool still wedged in place), and the stupid thing popped off on its own. Surprised the heck out of me.

It does just come off by pulling forward. It's got probably more clips for its size than any other piece in the dash, which is why it's so hard to remove. Just pull the tool down to provide some forward leverage and also try and find an edge at the top where you can help it a bit.

There are a total of eight clips holding the piece in. Six are straight forward, while two are diagonal forward and up. There are also two guiding pegs, and those release straight forward.

I'll try to take a pic tonight(my time) if you still need it.

Thanks for the info. Part of the problem was not having an ideal tool to get a firm hooked pull - going to pick up a better one before the next go.

It's actually stopped rattling since the failed removal attempt - maybe I managed to exert enough pressure to make it behave for a while?

Did anyone resolve this issue yet?

My prius is making the exact same noise. Frustrating because its brand new 2024 prius prime xse. It's a little cold right now. At first I thought it was just normal prius noises, but its not it.

I did manage to get my top left panel off with some proper tools and put some padding in and it stopped that one. Still got a couple of other rattles though - one over by the glovebox I've not pinned down, and one I've isolated to the lower panel surrounding the auto light and heated steering wheel buttons.

I wish I hadn’t found this thread. My 2024 is about to arrive soon. I’ve had terrible issues with dash and door rattles in my 2009. Some appear in the winter and then go away in warm weather. Some go away if I tap the dashboard but mostly intermittent. Drives me nuts! Hope you get this resolved.

I was able to solve mine. I unbolted the bracket and wrapped some vinyl tape around the little metal tab. Then I was careful to try and keep the tab centered in the opening to lessen the chance of it vibrating in the future. It's been about 6 months without the noise returning.

That being said, there's no way to know whether my noise is the same as your noise. Plus, I don't know if it would be worth pulling the entire dash just to get rid of a little noise(I was already in there for another reason). A person might introduce two new noises while solving one. I was lucky that everything went right, but the next person might not be.
