So I got the p0a80 in my yaris hybrid 2012 120k km.I have measured all the cells and the values across the cells are 8v soh 90% and internal resistance 6.5 mohm. Prior to this I have cleaned the busbars and batt fan, deleted the code with my obd scanner but the alert came back.. Does anyone found a solution for this? Thanks
Take a look at the freeze frame data for the P0A80 code. You should be able to tell which battery block is bad.
So, you are using a standard automotive battery load tester to test the modules of the hybrid battery? Why are you doing that? That battery tester is not designed to test the hybrid battery modules. The only good information that it will give you is the voltage of the module. You need a scan tool that can read the freeze frame data for the P0A80 code OR buy a new OEM hybrid battery for your car.
The battery tester is good enough to show me the internal resistance for every cell, I didn’t find a cell with higher resistance than 6.4-6.5 mohm
This is what happens when you use the wrong tools for the job. 1. Your traction battery ECU sees something it doesn't like - You interpreted that you had a battery fault. 2. Your using a generic computer driven automotive battery tester - I doubt that those blade batteries are putting out 500 CCA; compare the size requirement for a 'real' 500 CCA automotive battery looks like. Each blade is tied in series, that's how it generates the power to propel the vehicle. Partial failure (weak) blade(s) will eventually trip a CEL; but corrosion and bad contact points will do the same - interrupt or decrease the current flow. Use the correct tools for the job! A carbon pile load tester doesn't lie. It's a direct test of a battery's ability, current output. It's not a fancy random number generator that'll lead you in the wrong direction. Is your OBD2 scan tool able to communicate to the traction battery ECU? That will tell you what parameter is out of specifications that's tripping the code.
