Check hybrid system warning on the dash on the vehicle won't drive. Does this sound like the IPM? And since it's a 2010, would that be covered by the NTSB recall which is lifetime and paid for by the dealer?
The warranty period for the inverter is 20 years, it is NOT lifetime. Trouble code P3004 is listed for customer confidence program 23TE03. I have copied a small part of the document below: Prius Inverter Class Action Settlement The Customer Confidence Program is a component of a class action settlement that includes several elements of coverage. The Customer Confidence Program provides coverage as it applies to the Intelligent Power Module (IPM). The specific condition covered by this Customer Confidence Program 23TE03 is failure of the IPM located inside the inverter assembly of the hybrid system indicated by DTCs P0A94, P0A1A, P324E, and/or P3004. If any of these DTCs are detected, various warning lamps on the instrument panel will also illuminate and the vehicle will enter Fail Safe Mode. So, the car may be covered by this warranty. The only way you will know is to have the car towed to a Toyota dealership and to have them diagnose the problem. More information is included in the post made by ChapmanF on January 31,2024.
Wow no kidding I mean you can get these inverters for like what 30 $40 $100 at the most I got four out in the shed I believe and I think some of them are stickered for the campaign if I'm not mistaken them a little funky looking sticker on it like you see on refurbished electronics if you remove this sticker blah blah blah I wouldn't even give the dealer a chance to see my vehicle for this problem I don't think given you know the inverter situation and then being so plentiful it's not worth my headache to make an appointment even if it is free.
