Oil Leak Part ID

Maybe this is a bolt alongside a flange type mounting arrangement or does it screw right into the timing cover of the block either way it probably has a gasket or an o-ring seal maybe you just need to withdraw the sensor full off the o-ring take it to the parts store and match it up with an o-ring lube it up put it on the sensor You should know immediately when you push it back into the cover that the seal is working properly you'll kind of feel it whereas now when you take it out if it's leaking when you pull the sensor out it just pops right out feels like you're doing nothing but when you put it back in with the new o-ring you'll need to have it lubed up and wiggle it side to side so it goes in the whole nicely and scrapes the oil and whatnot down the bore as it installs. But usually oil leaks are coming from further up generally but this is an access point to oil behind the sensor so and it looks like it's got a lot of build up there I'd have to clean all that off and then run the motor and have a good look but as old as these cars are and it's about time for o-rings and things to start wear out just in the time frame of the car's life let alone the mileage and possible poor oil changes You never know.

 

The sensor has an O-ring to seal it to the timing cover. That could be seeping.

Very rarely the sensor itself can seep. Unplug the connector and check for oil inside it.
