Any cyclists here confirm with front wheel removed any possibility of fitting a 58cm road bike in the back with seats down? I'm guessing no. I did a forum search but it only showed up in older models, had a friend with a gen 3 and she carried in the back of hers. Dealer doesn't have any for me to check.
I fit my factor ostro vam 54cm with the wheels on slight negotiation as you enter the hatch but fits otherwise Rear derailleur up and if it is di2 don’t have any pressure on the gear levers (battery pwr will run low)
I'm impressed that you could do it wheel on. So wheel off even tho frame is a 58cm on mine it could be doable. As I like to leave the bike in the car during cycling season. My current ride
Just had a pic similar to my Ostro Vam it’s got the latest ultegra groupset with ultegra pedals ceramic spd on rear derailleur the bottle cages are 17g carbon cages not plastic in the pic and the dropbar is much lower Nice Trek roadbike as well enjoy
I fit both my wife's e-bike, and my full-size "cross" with the front-wheel off. Pics: ‘23 Roof Racks | Page 2 | PriusChat
The only things I prefer from the old matrix to the prius are the wider hatch and the taller square hatch making it easier to stack stuff, plus I guess the super easy to fold flat front passenger seat when it comes to trunk space. Otherwise, the gen 5 prius does everything the matrix did in terms of packing it with things. You just need to fold the seat back differently, and be careful with the width of items you carry. The actual trunk space is still very useable with the seats down, similar to many other hatch backs Nice to see people stuffing their bikes in there too!
My steed hardly ever goes in the car, so maybe it's not as big a deal for me. I don't need rescuing often, but it's good to know it will still be possible. Now, to see if the wife will fit...(she's really short)
