    Inductive charging will probably scale up to eliminate the cord issues as BEV tech improves.....

    I do not own a BEV and I can't remember the last time that MY hands smelled like petrol.
    I also cannot remember the last time I had to think about refueling options.

    I use propane/natgas for my gennys and I was taught how to refuel my cars without spilling petrol.

    inductive charging without serious losses could be a ways away. you see very few plug in owners compaining about plugging in, because the reality is different from the fud.

    Yeah, that was my original setup too=perfect. Then, our next plug-in had the port on the opposite side of the vehicle and the fun began.

    Umm, OK.

    I bought a J1772 extension cord, Originally to deal with ICE cars parked in the EV charging lane. Later, extending from the home, L2 charger to either the Tesla or opposite side BMW.

    I just went to a gas station.

    I didn't have to leverage 40 years as an electronics technician to figure out the difference between L1 and L2 charging - or what title "SAE Surface Vehicle Recommended Practice J1772, SAE Electric Vehicle Conductive Charge Coupler" meant.

    Somebody IN THIS forum once looped me into what hybrids are supposed to REALLY MEAN.
    You can drive them like 'an ordinary car....'

    Bob's right.
    There are still too many people out there who just aren't smart enough (or wealthy enough) to pay the dues and be in the club.

    for round trips longer than the vehicles range, it makes sense.

    A 2014 BMW i3-REx was my entry to EVs via a PHEV. When I bought it, the range extender engine avoid any problem with early, sparse, expensive, and buggy chargers:
    Don't let "wealthy" be a barrier. I found four BMW i3-REx on eBay for reasonable prices:
    • $10,000 - 62,000 mi :: warranty battery replacement last year
    • $12,900 - 52,500 mi :: has battery warranty
    • $17,999 - 31,522 mi :: has battery and body warranty
    • $25,000 - 14,031 mi :: has battery and body warranty
    Remember, GOOD, FAST, CHEAP ... pick two.

    2025 will bring new forces to influence new and used EV prices. Who among us will predict what?

    I was surprised everyone didn't buy a Prius even though I had three in series until EV converted. Sometimes, God must take care of the fallen sparrow(s).

    In high school, I used to wonder what terrible crime I committed in an earlier life to be condemned to this life with these fellows? The question remains.

    So I just do what I can for myself, some of my kin, and friends. As for the rest, well God's will be done. Everyone has a right to be wrong.
