What is the purpose of the little button to the right of the ODB port?

    Thanks!

I believe you are referring to the TPMS reset button. It's either that, or your car is equipped with a passenger ejector seat. ;)

TPMS reset is hold button down for 3 seconds, so your brief presses probably didn't do anything.

Yeah there's some description in the Owner's Manual. If you've started the reset there's something displayed on the dash? I forget. :)

TPMS light will blink slowly while you hold the button in (3 times and then stop). The same vicinity is a common location for a KARR alarm indicator/disabled button as another possibility.

Whew! Nothing happened since I didn't hold it down that long and nothing showed up on the dash. Thank you so much for the info! :)

All that would happen, if it "took", would be to reestablish the warning parameters per your current tire pressures. I think they have to drop something like 25% below that pressure, before you get a warning.

Per the manual we are supposed to reset it every time we adjust the pressures. In the indirect system in the '04 Sienna not resetting for long periods makes it NOT sense a deflation event.

Does this direct system deviate somehow that we should reset it every time? (I check pressures every two weeks but don't reset, partly because it's usually at night/very early morning when I check).

I think you could set it once and forget it, as long as your set pressures don't vary radically.

After any service where they may have touched the tires, I will try to check the next early am and reset, just in case they did reset it for me. (Almost always never get the pressures right. Now that I think about it, maybe they don’t touch them when I get a car back and it is correct when I check)!

Turning off key detection? I believe with gen 2 it never "goes to sleep", so if you weren't going to use the car for a few days, turning this off helped preservie 12 volt battery charge.
