I would have no problem with aftermarket body parts or salvage. However years ago I replaced the front bumper cover with a Toyota part and had it painted.

Now there are aftermarket bumper covers prepainted and folded for shipping. I might go that route if needed.

$360 painted folded shipped by fedex, $640 not folded. Much less primed only and folded.

Well my body shop supply guy the bumper guy here in the south I think sells these bumper covers for about $99 129 course they're unpainted and cum black primer obviously painting is expensive I mean I can probably get a front bumper painted here locally by a friend of mine that has a body shop he's an older guy doesn't do a whole lot of work now maybe 120 150 bucks but the paint is $80 or something like that for the amount needed for the bumper and then if you're painting one of these Toyota colors that has to be mixed and ordered and purchased and all of that so very quickly you can see what can happen I ordered a hood from one of these places not painted the steel equivalent of the aluminum hood It was only $129 for the hood and $200 for the shipping because it can't fold up and when it got here it was damaged from carparts.com so usually nowadays I try to find the stuff off of another vehicle literally there's enough generation 3 sitting around shouldn't really be a problem I wouldn't think but a lot of people are keeping the cars together thinking someone's going to buy the car for $1,500 and spend $4,000 fixing it for however many year old generation 3 were talking about The logic just isn't there really My two generation 3 is fairly easily fixable or sitting here and no one will touch them and almost no one will touch the parts I guess people have wised up which is fine

I need to replace all those black plastic parts that line the wheel wells and underside of the car. The clips that held them on dried up and the liners have fallen to where had to be removed. Also, I want to replace all the window gaskets. Living in FL with no garage...... any ideas where I can find these?

Best way is to find the Toyota part number for any item you need. This is easiest at a dealer parts dept but many won’t give them to you unless you buy.

Next is one of several online Toyota dealers. I will list a couple below. You send them an email with your vin, model and year along with a GOOD description of the parts you want. Pics that are clear help. These guys will help but are not going to hold your hand and go out to the car and show you their screens like a dealer might. But prices are often 25% less AND you get a quote with part numbers for oem parts. Sometimes more than 25% off during sales.

Finally the lowest cost solution is aftermarket parts you find by searching using the oem part numbers. The plus here is low cost but the aftermarket parts may be flimsy and often do not fit great. For example I bought the bigger aftermarket bottom engine plastic when my oem version had the swinging oil change door ripped off. I had to adjust too many of the bolt holes and ended up merging the new into the old.

I also changed a wheel well plastic with aftermarket. It was flimsy and needed more clearance holes as well.

The clips are relatively cheap on Amazon but you need the part numbers.

So getting a good result with cheap aftermarket pieces takes work in most cases.

Finally used oem parts can be found on eBay but getting the right part can be the trick. You are also hoping the seller knows the part number correctly. Be careful of eBay’s refund policy which often requires you to pay shipping back and not refund their shipping.

If you read this far, you can sometimes save shipping by buying online from your local dealers! Not all are online and not all have a pickup at the store option but it has worked several times for me. Each online dealer may have a different set of parts available and usually have different prices.
