Hello, Our neighbor recently passed and we acquired 4 rims/ hubcaps with newer tires. Can somebody tell me what year they are from? We are near Olympia Washington if anybody is interested in purchasing them. I can post more pictures if needed. Thank you, Steve
They are from a Gen4 Prius (2016 through 2021). The one picture showing the end of the DOT number on the tire sidewall ends in 17, which indicates that tire was manufactured in 2017. SM-G781V ?
Here's how to read your DOT code. Tire Care Tips and How to Read a Tire Sidewall | Toyo Tires Your code indicates the tires were manufactured in the 7th week of 2017. This suggest these were the original tires that came with the car. The value of the tires is based on the useful remaining life. While there may be tread depth on the tire, the age of the tire is approaching 8 years old. As a tire ages, it may start to dry rot. You'll see small cracks in the side wall. The side wall is thin and eventually the cracks will get deep enough to spring a leak. Side wall leaks are not repairable so the tire must be discarded at that point. I didn't see any cracking in your pictures so it appears you have a few years left of useful life. The rims have the most value to someone that wants/needs them especially if they are in good condition. BTW, the tire size 195/65R15 is the same for the Gen 3 Prius so I assume the rim might also fit a 2010-2015 Prius but I don't know this for sure.
I believe that wheel was also used on the current generation Corolla for some years. I have that wheel too and I bought the set for use on a Corolla. If you were trying to sell or gift it locally, you could describe it as a 5x100 Corolla/2022 or earlier Prius wheel and tire.
