Got a gen 3 i like. Live in a big city. Any advice of keeping it from getting stolen.
No one seems to be interested in it.
Would you guys buy a club for it.
Wife parks her car in rear garage. I must park on the street.
    Any advice is good thanks.

'Clubs' are cheap at the price, and a good flex since property crime is so crazy high these days, and not just in the city.
Get the bright yellow one so that the creeps might see it before they break out the back door glass - which will be about 4x the price to replace than the 'club.'
Ignore all of the stupid "YooTube" club hacks.
If you live in a high-crime area then you already know all of the other things.
Move to a smaller city? ;)
    Training and a CCP?
I happen to KNOW that you can get one in the parts of PA that lie outside of 'Alabama' if you're not otherwise prohibited.
    No.
    Not for the car!
If an armed person wants the car, give them the %$#@! car.
The reason that people are not 'interested in' your car is that it's old AND it does not have a metal key.

HOWEVER (comma!!!) you have to put fuel in the car from time to time - and most cars these days are push button start.
THAT MEANS that gas stations in high crime areas are like ATMs.
Money, wallet, car already booted up, all the things.

    Good Luck!

I wouldn't bother with a club. Just not enough auto-theft still occurring to be worth it.

On the other hand, there is a legitimate risk that somebody might jack it up and cut the catalytic converter out. It may well be worth paying for a shield or chain system for that.

    OP is in Philly.
They can replace their $1100 cat with a $150 unit or just straight-pipe it with a spoofer.
Spending $300 for a cat-shield is not cost effective.

DO NOT concur about the Club, mostly because somebody seeing 13-year-old car parked on the curb might mistake it for a metal-key car and punch out the rear passenger window to find out otherwise.
Like I said - cheap insurance at the $50 price.

A club is a good deterant. Try to install it with the key slot facing the dash.
Make sure you can reach in and unlock it BEFORE locking it! (y)
It will be a little bit of a pain to unlock it, but harder for a thief to pick it.

Don't get a gun unless you can go bang bang bang, stop or I'll shoot!
And shoot to kill. If you can't or won't do that, don't get a gun.

You might want to consider the aluminum plate for the cat converter.

ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings, but not in FEAR! Be ready to protect
yourself and you'll have an advatage over the bad guys.

NEVER be afraid to protect yourself, family, and belongings, never.
The police can not stop the criminals, only catch them after the crime.
Unless you get really lucky and they are there at the time.
If you're going to get a gun, get training! Practice! If you take a self defense
    course, Practice!

Hiding an airtag in the car would be a good idea also. That way you can track it live
and tell the police where the car is and hopefully catch them before they damage the car.

Take the speaker out of the air-tag before you deploy it in the car.
The The University of the YouTubes will tell you how and why.

The 2012 Prius(Gen3) has an alarm installed in the car from Toyota. What's wrong with that? If you didn't have it programmed when you bought the car, you can do it now.

The OP has a base '11 - similar to the two '10s that I drove for Big Bell back in the day.
These models (or at least mine) did not come with a factory alarm, and even if they did those are valueless in an urban setting, against airbag theft - or car theft - or ANY theft.

In addition to providing a real-world theft deterrent, the club will keep somebody from yanking the airbag almost all of the time.

Fully concur the the 2A things mentioned above.
Glad those permits are still available in PA.
