Today's game 7 to 6 Dodgers and thus series goes to them 4 games to 1. Go Blue, gone Blue. Too early to guess if 2025 may end like this.

MLB is built on 'the minors' and those teams offer baseball fun at reasonable prices. Highly recommended, while waiting for Cricket to find the US.

    +1!!
    - if you can afford it.

One may want to remind THEM of that!

Me? I lost my innocence decades ago.
We have a minor league team less than 50 miles away, and I believe that the cheapest seat in the haus is now up to $15.
Not that many years ago you would have been hard pressed to find a seat in the whole park that went for that much!

$15 a seat for a family of five, plus gas, parking and dogs?
Pretty soon you're priced out of THAT league as well.....

FORTUNATELY - basebol is a radio sport - and we still have a family-owned 10kw by gawd AM radio station in our town.
    We're not THAT backwards.
They DO have an FM repeater and you can listen in on tha interwebs.

Perhaps a new crop of young'uns can listen in and rediscover the magic....

    - 1!
    Cricket?
I'd rather be subjected to the whims of the militant Veco-warriors and be forced to eat crickets.

Isn't it bad enough already that we've already been infected with soccer????

Oh, the party is over already? Didn't follow any except seeing an update on this thread. LOL

Time to make plan for the SuperBowl Sunday for those sports fans! But not I.

    I agree.
Our area is too small to support any major league teams - but has 3 minor league teams within 100 mile radius of us. The Teams have great baseball and promotions going on every game.

When I was a youngster, our Dad took us to see the Big Red Machine (Cincinnati Reds during their heyday) play the Pittsburg Pirates with Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell, I still remember that.

Now that I am older actually enjoy going to minor league games - couldn't imagine paying Major League prices and fighting big city traffic to see a ball game.

I used to be a Major League Baseball fan as a kid and teenager. You could go to the park for most games and they might have 15-20k people out of a 50k capacity stadium. Cheap seats were cheap and you could move later if you wanted to but could easily see what was going on regardless.

They eventually built a smaller stadium with shorter home runs and stuck it downtown where parking was tough and certainly not free.

Now the game of tradition, stats and no time clock has changed the rules where a guy gets a base because they threw to first three times and they force the defense to leave wide openings for the batters. Several times last night I had to google to find out what new rule was in play. Oh well.

is aaron judge more of a liability than an asset? if there are two aarons on one team, do they negate each other?

    A. Judge arguably homered Yankees into the Series. Once there, he was a singles and doubles guy at best. Not enough. If he is a long term liability it is for consuming Yankees money that might be spent elsewhere. This seems a front-office problem.

Every pitch he got and every response be made can and will be analyzed. I presume he can learn from that, and next year could do better in Series.

Buzz is that S. Ohtani may pitch for Dodgers next year. That would be a thing.

    Usta be chess.
Now it's more like checkers blended with the worst aspects of 'Dancing with the Stars.' - WITH apologies to checkers players.

    meh.

    Don't know.
Don't the boyz in blue already have pitchers?
Don't know much about Shohei, 'cept he is a fantastic player and really underperforms at money management and betting.

In a fair and just world. he might get the Peter Edward Rose Sr mistreatment.

    Either way?
Too much drama for me, thanks.

A Tennessee football team beats a hated rival, and they knock down a goal post and throw it in the nearest river.
The Boyz in Blu beat a hated rival and......WHAT happens????

I'll take "college football" for the Saturday Daily Double.

Latter two were fully attributed to his translator/personal assistant, who is gone (to somewhere) and no longer talked about.

I'm late to this party, and my interests have attention span has changed a bit < since when I was a wee lad and followed almost everything on radio and TV from hockey, basketball, track and field, swimming, diving, football and 'even the world series after school' for a few years. Over commercialization is probably one reason I'm not as enthusiastic about the games as we see them these days, or I was just spoiled by the excitement I felt back in the old days that I remember well - still.

A few years ago I got excited about working a summer job as ocean rescue and started working towards passing the ocean test, again. I started watching Michael Phelps and his coach Bob Bowman on youtube and in my extremely out of shape condition tried to do everything I could manage to see what all the the new techniques were all about. At least the ones I could do at all.
Never did get an invite to my chosen teams area, as they had too many locals apply than year.
My main objective was getting in shape again, since the time long past when I'd worked as an ocean lifeguard, we were free to work out as hard or as soft as we needed and I got in the best shape of my life. Perhaps could be one of the reasons I still think of those years as the best job I'd ever had. But I digress.

I'd much rather play the games than watch, unless I can do both !

I knew of a laptop discovery once upon a time that was "fully attributed" to Rooskie misinformation.

The personal assistant moniker is apt, in this case.

I try to call balls and strikes as I see them, so I get to keep my giveacrap switch in the 'don't' position where Shohei is concerned.
If he wants to gamble and MLB wants to turn a blind eye for the bucks?
    Who am I to judge?
    It's not like they're the Astros. ;)
Rose got caught and got slammed, but that was a different time and place and Rose is now FULLY retired....and I watch college football - for now.
