Odd no start situation with my prius v/gen3 I have a lifepo4 12v battery that's a few months old. Haven driven for a few days. Drove for 10 miles. Stopped at a store for 5min, came out and wouldn't get any lights on the power button when pushing the break pedal. Headlights worked Brake lights worked Fob/locks all worked Fix was to disconnect and reconnect the 12v battery. Then it started right up Any ideas?
Are there any warning lights on the dash? Do you have a volt meter? Measure the 12v battery with the car off. What do you get with the car off and the headlights turned on?
HV battery leak isolation fault . With a cheap Innova scanner clear the codes twice even if there are no codes does it let you drive the car My guess would be there's a high voltage leak
usually, disconnecting and reconnecting means you have cleared a code that prevented the car from starting. get a prius aware code scanner, or take it to a mech with toyota software or a dealer. eric becky is in madison
Never thought to try and read a code with no cel/etc on. Will keep the scanner in the car from now on.
Someone I believe here discovered that a cheap scanner plugged up whether it's reading a code or not this person knew or thought that they had the hybrid isolation fault or something along those lines and they just use their cheap scanner and cleared the codes twice not once but twice and it would reset the code which was the code for the hybrid isolation fault as it turned out. But just clearing the code with the cheap basic scanner twice back to back would clear this particular code and allow this person to drive when I had this happen on one of my four generation twos I went and got my cheap Inova 3100 scanner plugged it in had no codes cleared the codes twice the triangle went off and I could drive the car or I have to run in and get Toyota software on a laptop and a VCI plug and all this other stuff this was a quick way to do this without having to do all that and I did have the hybrid isolation fault on this particular vehicle which I fixed the next day.
