I perhaps misinterpreted the @ Mr.Vanvandenburg post below as a his attempt to get into FHOP_P.

Far be it from me to cast somebody down into the 'pit of woe' who wasn't asking for it.

I don't have a problem with forum moderation, nor an affirmation to join FHOP_P.

At the very least, it keep out people who are too dull-whited to read the site rules.

My differentiation:

• "troll" - someone trying with some technical content (often poorly stated) trying assert something.
• "noise" - someone without technical content, clearly trying to assert something.

I will share facts and data following a "troll" posting. Heck, sometimes I learn something. But "noise" is repetitive with no discernible, technical content, time to turn up the SQUELCH.

That should be reserved for those now saying not going to vote at all because of Gaza.

 

I agree with the huge division in the country. I remember a time when free speech was celebrated and folks enjoyed talking about their different opinions about politics and religion and food and beer.

Today, we hear about younger folks who won't even go on a date with someone from "the other side" Our cancel culture and ghosting culture really needs to stop and folks need to re-learn how to actually talk with folks. But, instead, folks would rather spend hours a day looking at stupid videos on their phones or posting insane comments on X (Twitter) and Facebook.

Will we ever get back there? Doubtful...and it's sad....every American needs to spend time in a 3rd World country to really appreciate the blessings and liberties we have. Every American needs to see a country ruled by Socialism or Sharia Law and witnessing the state police arresting people for stepping out of line or a muslim "guidance patrol" person beating the heck out of some poor woman because she accidently had eye contact with an American or showed the skin on her ankles....it's heartbreaking!!

They might be in the 10th century when it comes to basic human rights, but look at it from THEIR point of view....

THEY think WE'RE the barbarians because we have to lock our cars and houses, violent crime is nearing Mad Max levels in some places and we're chopping off our kid's body parts trying to change their genders, and we use our military to invade lots of other countries but not to stop millions (tens of millions?) of people from invading US!

Glad I'm out of the title X biz!

In 2008, my front yard, Obama signs were stolen. I was planning to give another pair away. Instead, I put them out and rubbed them down with dangled poison ivy strands. They stayed through the election.

In 2016, a stranger to me, asked out loud at a bar, "Why don't we have a hunting season for Democrats?" Over time, I've had a chance to meet and eat an occasional lunch with him. I share what is going on with my EV and offered him EV test drives. But believe he is 'all hat and no cattle.'

This June, a punk kid from his Corvette yelled the rally cry, "USA! USA! USA!" while I was trying to get one of my EVs to charge. Later, I realized he could have had his poppa's pistol and thrown a few rounds at me. Worse, the news continues to carry reports of: road rage shootings; drive by shootings at crowds and; into houses. My house has campaign signs wiped with poison ivy extract.

I understand one candidate has called some of use "the enemy within" and "enemy of the people." That candidate plans to use the National Guard and Military to take care of these enemies.

Has the threat level risen?
