Hybrid assistant not reading MPG correctly

Does anyone know what the correlation is between the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor in relation to fuel consumption data on the MFD? After installing a JDM engine, I noticed that I couldn’t see the fuel consumption screen on my MFD. Oddly, after changing both the crankshaft and camshaft sensors (crankshaft first, then camshaft), the fuel consumption screen reappeared. However, while working on the brakes and disconnecting the 12-volt battery, the fuel consumption display vanished again, and now it only shows the map.

I’m also seeing issues with Hybrid Assistant not matching MFD readings. Hybrid Assistant often shows an average of about 2 MPG when I first turn on the car, even in EV mode or while coasting, and the MFD typically shows much higher readings, like 99 MPG when coasting and then adjusts lower with gas pedal pressure. I’m planning to inspect some wiring connections under the hood and reboot the car to see if it helps, but I’m curious if anyone has insight on syncing these readings or what could cause the discrepancy between Hybrid Assistant and the MFD. This thread is the only one I’ve found with someone mentioning a similar issue. Any advice would be appreciated!
